“My co-founder Uku started posting on Indie Hackers as he began to develop Plausible.”— Marko Saric, co-founder of Plausible
The ugly part. No funding, no team, no launch splash — just an open-source side project Uku Täht started posting about on Indie Hackers as he wrote the first lines of code. The early beta was bare-bones, shipped mainly to recruit its first handful of users.
What they shipped anyway. Uku and co-founder Marko Saric grew it transparently, milestone by milestone — the beta, the first paid subscriptions, every revenue number — turning a privacy-first analytics tool into a real bootstrapped business in full public view.
Now. A profitable, independent alternative to Google Analytics — privacy-first, EU-hosted, and still bootstrapped.
